Meta CAPI

The Meta Conversions API (CAPI) integration lets Unveild send server-side events into the same Meta dataset your Pixel writes to. The setup has two parts:

  1. Provide Unveild's team with a Dataset ID and Access Token.
  2. Grant Unveild view access to the Pixel dataset.

End-to-end, this should take about 5 minutes.

Part 1 — Provide the Dataset ID and Access Token​

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and choose your business portfolio from the dropdown.
  2. Click All Tools, then go to Events Manager.
  3. Open Data Sources and select the dataset where your Meta Pixel events are flowing in.
  4. Click Settings, then copy the Dataset ID.
  5. Scroll down to Direct integration and click Generate access token.
  6. In the dropdown, select only the dataset you want CAPI integration for, then click Generate access token.
  7. Copy the access token.
  8. Send both the Dataset ID and the Access Token to your Unveild POC.
Treat the access token like a password

The Meta access token grants write access to your CAPI dataset. Share it through a secure channel (1Password, encrypted Slack message, or an encrypted email) — never paste it into a public ticket or Git repository.

Part 2 — Grant view access to the Pixel dataset​

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and choose your business portfolio from the dropdown.
  2. Go to Settings. Under Users, click People, then click Invite people.
  3. In the Email address field, enter ads@unveild.ai.
  4. Under Assign Access → Apps and integrations, toggle Manage to the Allow state.
  5. Under Assign business assets, click Switch to individual asset assignment.
  6. Type the dataset name (the same one you used in Part 1) and choose the entry with Dataset written beneath the name. Click Confirm selection.
  7. Under Partial access, toggle Use events dataset to the Allow state.
  8. On the Review invitation screen, click Send invitation.

Done​

Message your Unveild Customer Success Manager once the invitation has been sent. They'll accept the invite, validate that events are landing, and confirm the integration is live.
